Dizzy Graphics: MEPH makes GIFs

I find my inspiration in everyday random thoughts or activities, in the things I read or the music I listen or anything that gives me a magic twist and puts my hand to work; it can happen anywhere, anytime and it’s best if lady “inspiration” finds me already working. What is special about the medium of a GIF? I guess it’s because of the short length and the loop that makes you stare a bit into the screen.

The #sundaygif project started as a reminder for me that Sundays can also be productive, rather than lazy and full of boredom (as they usually are for me) and I thought I should cheer up the atmosphere a bit. The subject usually comes from that day’s flavour and I transform my idea into an illustration that I animate frame by frame.

Human spirit and human form take a big role in my work alongside nature and I only try to express my vision together with my experiences in a positive form. I don’t want to communicate a negative feeling, even if I depict my subjects in a bit of a grotesque manner.
